new helmet design theory

Being very hopeful of a new helmet/uni design, I offer the following speculation. I see the 05 poster/schedule does not show our helmet. Not a proof in itself...HOWEVER, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, Just now I'm driving down south neil street and see a billboard advertising the group trip to california for the Cal game this fall. the orange helmet in the ad is a side view, and only shows the facemask and a bit of orange before it is cut off by the side of the ad. I submit this, your honor, as positive proof that a new helmet logo is in the works to erase the miserable past (excepting 2001) associated with the plain white slant Illinois on our helmets. where is that "scratching chin" emoticon?

I must say, that's an interesting theory you're floating. I'm all for trying something different with the helmets.

I'm not quite sure what exactly you could put on there. The circle I would look a little goofy. What if we went to White helments with an Orange I, White pants and Orange unis?

actuallu, db11for3- i really like that idea. can anybody photoshop that? I have GIMP but I am not very skilled with it yet. My hope was a return to the 84 rosebowl unis, particularly the orange helmet with the blue "illini" curved around the earhole and outlined in white. a white helmet with the orange I would be cool. How many schools use white helmets. the Titans wear white helmets. I think arizona has white helmets.

Just off of the top of my head I see Tennessee, Texas, Penn St., and Wisconsin wear white helmets.
