As a long-time lurker and first time poster, I figured that I would lend a hand and start the *Official* Illinois Loyalty Top 25 Poll. Being that we are already up to Tuesday of this week, I will defer Week 1 until next week (due on 1/10 by 12:00 PM), reflecting the first full week of conference play.

Here's the deal:

Submit all polls to me via private messenger (username: IlliniNYC).

The deadline is each Monday at 12:00 PM, or *noon* to those of us who still get confused.

Your rankings should include teams ranked 1-25 listed vertically.

Points will be assigned from 25 to 1 based on poll position from 1 to 25, respectively. You know, the way every poll works. Except the BCS, but then again, it doesn't really work.

I will try very, very hard to publish the poll relatively quickly, but I make no guarantees that it will be quick, only that I will try.

Thanks for participating! :D

Sweetness this should be good.

IlliniNYC maybe you could provide a list of like the top 35 team from one of the polls so we have an easy template reference to start off?

Sweet. That is quite a bit of work. Appreciated.

***sidenote*** I notice you are a fan of both Illini and G-Town. Did you go to the game? How torn were you?

No torn in the least :D

Life-long Illinois fan, GU grad. Illinois basketball is by far my #1 of all sports. I was a mostly-ambivilent-game-attending student to GU while I was there under the previous Thompson regime. But over the last several years I have started to follow the team more and more. I was all set to have great seats at MCI for the game (I'm a Hoya Hoop Club member - a lot like Illinois' I-Fund) so for the one game I would of had great seats...but work got in the way and I had to watch from an awesome sports bar in West Hollywood, CA.

I did make it to Vegas and had a great time at the games. Second row center court is quite a view! :D

I bet. That venue looked awesome for catching a game. I saw us at the Palestra in Philly last year and it was incredible. This looked like catching the Illini / Cincy at Centennial. I bet it was rockin, and you didn't have the displeasure of hearing the commentary. I swear we have 6 players named Luther on our team. :D

Also if you missed out on the GTown game, I can think of A LOT worse places to watch!

Sounds like a cool idea.

It's nice to see that Oregon and Arkansas are hovering just outside the top 25, but some of their companions in that neighborhood look a little suspect, so I'm taking it with a grain of salt...

I enjoyed the ineptness of the Vegas announcers. It was like listening to someone who is struggling to wake up to communicate, but is stuck in that gluey limbo of rational thoughts jumbled with arcane and irrelevant nonsense.

OK, this is your first reminder. Illinois Loyalty members....do not forget to submit your IL Top 25 poll to me via private message by 12:00 PM, aka *noon*, on Monday. If you would like to go ahead and submit your poll to me tonight, be sure to assume a double digit loss for Kansas tomorrow....

I misinterpreted the objective of the poll. I thought it was to most closely predict what the new AP poll would be, otherwise I would have made a few glaring changes...

I know for next time.

Sadly, with only four of us voting, it makes a uge difference. On the bright side, it sure makes my job easier with only four!

If I remember to send you mine on Monday, the total will be five.
