For the stat lovers among us...

Team (http://bigten.collegesports.com/sports/m-baskbl/stats/2004-2005/confldrs.html#conf.wkt)

Individual (http://bigten.collegesports.com/sports/m-baskbl/stats/2004-2005/confldrs.html#conf.wki)

I do not have time right now to get creative and add some commentary, but it is interesting enough to look through these and see who (team and individual) are emerging as stars.

On a side note, one of my favorite players in the Big Ten is Aaron Johnson. That guy has a great story and this year is putting up some great numbers - only guy averaging a double-double. He is a gritty player who hates to lose, and is unfortunately stick on a very bad team. I will miss my annual trip to Happy Valley this year due to the mid-week game...too bad.

I know this a pretty weak stat to have a question on, but does anyone know how many people Carver holds??? Their attendance seems paltry for a team ranked as high as they are, sporting a couple quality wins.

It seats 15,500.

Their home attendence so far:

10,004
9,711
10,680
10,349
15,312 (against Iowa State)
9,211
11,158
10,760

...or about 70% capacity. And that is paid attendance, not who actually showed up. With their fans starting to think that an undefeated Big Ten campaign and a national championship is a real possibility, you would think that they would actually go to the games. But then again, maybe there are still a bunch of them boycotting the Pierre Pierce phenomenom.

Don't forget that they managed to find 7,176 fans to *buy tickets* for the Texas Tech game at the United Center. If you watched the game, you would know that there were far fewer than that actually there...

Iowa Basketball.

I hope the Illini fans gobbled up the rest of those tix for the game over there. We can repeat and even have MORE of a presence than last year. That would be something

possibly the Pierre deal. I know if I was an Iowa fan, I would not be proud, but there are other players on the team worth rooting for, and I would be wishing for a new coach everyday, but will still go to the games.

That is some bad fan support by Iowa. I thought they were good fans? They're 12-1...?

To switch topics, my crack mathmatical skills shows us leading attendance when the Vegas games are factored out.

Did you carry the 1???

Divide by Pi???

kidding, I am horrible in math, that why I was a communications major :D

that stat is tough to guage overall though, because a lot of people have played in different amounts of games.

I know I keep saying this, but I am too lazy to find the quote...however, IIRC this pre-conf season (ex Vegas) is the first time that we have averaged over 15,000 per game....

Slightly, OT, but speaking of which, Dan, are you going to link up the Illinois Attendance Project here at IL? I mean, shouldn't we start preparing for the Ron Zook attendance era? :D

Dan, are you going to link up the Illinois Attendance Project here at IL?Ah yes, NYC is referring to a little project I did a few seasons back. Well yes look for the Attendance Project (in football) to make a strong comeback before the football season starts.
