Anyone know where I can find info on this Illinois QB?

I believe he played from 1992-95. His signature play--that has a place on the all-time Illini football highlight reel--had him shacking off a near-sack on 4th down to fire a bullet to Jim Klein for a last-minute go-ahead TD at Michigan in 1993. Another one of his best games was a 30-0 W against East Carolina in the 1994 Liberty Bowl.

Anything particular you want to know?

Thx for the info Dan.

I was hoping to get a link to his college stats or a picture or a bio.

Fightingillini.com is worthless when it comes to historical stats.

Looking back at the results (http://fightingillini.collegesports.com/sports/m-footbl/archive/012400aaa.html), I'm quite certain his last season was 1995 and I don't think he played much if at all in 1992. I don't think his stats were anything special, he often was yanked in and out of the lineup.

Oh my, this is a good read-

Thx for the article.

Makes me remember how much I thought Tepper was an idiot.

"Season ticket sales in 70,000-seat Memorial Stadium haven't topped 30,000 since he took over for John Mackovic, whose offenses were good for something besides an insomnia cure."

Can you believe this clown wrote a book?

Please don't buy this book (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0880117974/102-7126700-3220125)

This post reminds me of an, unfortunately, not too rare ILLINI moment.

In '92 at the Holiday Bowl, (I was there as a member of the Marching Illini), Jason Verdusco (sp?) was the quarterback. They ran a flee flicker, and when the running back passed the ball back to him, the quanterback dropped the ball. It was not a forward pass, so it was still a live ball, but Jason just stood there and watched a Hawaii player pick up the ball, and run with it. (I think for a touchdown.) I haven't played organized football since I was 13, but even I knew it was a live ball.

It's not a good sign for your coaching staff when people in the band have a better understanding of the rules of the game than the players. Tepper was a nice guy, (He was really nice to the Marching Illini.) but he was a bad coach.
