I despise him.
This is the Pirates. They're terrible. Yet Hawkins is worse.
Get rid of him, please.

Agreed. I really wasn't that upset when he blew the lead / game...because I KNEW he would blow it...now that's sad. :(
Borowski should be back in a few weeks...He can't be any worse than who we have closing now....Come on Sweaty Joe..we need ya back!

a) Yeah, I had that feeling too that Hawkins would blow it. he's probably at his "best" facing 1/2 batters at most, 8th inning at the latest.
b) Borowski scares me too. Would be an upgrade. Chad Fox looked okay today. Did more than throw fastballs down Grand Central. Marked improvment.
can we trade for a closer somehow?

Is it the pressure that the Latroy can't handle because maybe he should be a middle reliever, or is it that he just can't pitch more than an inning and he needs to be released from his contract. Regardless, I would give him one more chance, one more game and if he blows it, he is sitting on the pen until he gets traded for someone that is alittle bit better (by better I mean someone that knows what the strike zone is.)

LaTroy got out of the 8th tonight w/o run damage, but he was far from spotless. He's not good.
Then Fox craps it up. I think he may be hurt. Whatever.
Can Dusty go Rusch/Bartosh/Remlinger as set-ups for Wurtz as closer? That's my choice.
Good win tonight, Cubs. Got to 10 wins before they got 10 losses. Barely.

My daily Cubs misery log, stardate 042605:
Wurtz get the loss. He's meant for the 9th inning.
The rest of the bullpen stinks it up, culminating yet another painful loss.
I'm actually happy the sharp objects in my apt are tucked away in drawers.
