First off...Zook threw out the first pitch today. Steeeeerike! Nice job. Right into the mit.

Later he sang Take Me Out to the Ballgame (he made sure to greet Illini fans over the PA system). Sang it like a coach -- totally off key, but hey!...he gave it a good effort. No shame. Proud of the guy.

In the booth w/ Brenley & Kasper...Zook sounds like a smart, gracious guy. You can sense his enthusiasm. Said he's got to get people to believe in the football team like they do for the basketball team.

He's a real football coach, I'll tell ya that. He says things like, "It's imperative that we...". Feels good to have one of those running our team for once.

Sept 9th. coming quickly!

When he was singing he had to look at a paper that most likely had the words on it... and he STILL sang the wrong words..

Alot of people actually have the words there when they sing. I don't mind Zook using the paper because he is a football guy and doesn't need to know the words anyway. It definetly wasn't as bad as Ozzy and Jeff Gordon. I gave Zook a B+ for the day.
