7-4 (with a 7-5 finish)

I want to believe that 7-4 is possible, especially given the new Coach and general Illini enthusiam I have seen lately. Magical turn-arounds do occur, as can be seen by a new coach's quick success in a floundering program (S. Carolina under Holtz, Maryland under Friedgen). Also, I thought two years ago, that many considered Illinois to be in the top two recruiting classes in the big ten, and top 20 nationally. Now is when these names should start to shine.

If we go 2-0 into Berkely, and pull the upset, watch out.

Here I go (generated for debate):

Illinois 24 Rutgers 21
Illinois 38 San Jose St. 18
Illinois 21 California 20
Illinois 24 Michigan St. 14
Iowa 38 Illinois 18
Illinois 31 Indiana 27
Penn State 9 Illinois 6
Illinois 17 Wisconsin 14
Ohio St. 34 Illinois 10
Purdue 42 Illinois 17
Illinois 35 Northwestern 31

I admire your optimism bapuillini. Optimism's contageous, so here goes for a team most picked to finish around 10th in the league (6-5):

Illinois 17 Rutgers 3
Illinois 28 San Jose St. 3
California 28 Illinois 14
Illinois 28 Michigan St. 27
Iowa 45 Illinois 28
Illinois 27 Indiana 25
Illinois 31 Penn State 28
Wisconsin 19 Illinois 13
Ohio St. 48 Illinois 3
Purdue 47 Illinois 6
Illinois 22 Northwestern 20

Okay, this is contagious. I have to try.

Note: I'm inherently pessimistic.

Illinois 34 Rutgers 20
Illinois 31 San Jose St. 28
California 38 Illinois 13
Michigan St. 33 Illinois 17
Iowa 44 Illinois 13
Illinois 37 Indiana 20
Penn State 13 Illinois 6
Wisconsin 28 Illinois 10
Ohio St. 37 Illinois 9
Purdue 45 Illinois 19
Northwestern 27 Illinois 26

3-8...that's what i got (just don't have the D to compete with the big boys). But it's a free pass year for Zook, and we're going bowling hardcore in 2006. got some good recruits on the way, and i like the optimism. it might be contagious too.
