7-4 (with a 7-5 finish)
I want to believe that 7-4 is possible, especially given the new Coach and general Illini enthusiam I have seen lately. Magical turn-arounds do occur, as can be seen by a new coach's quick success in a floundering program (S. Carolina under Holtz, Maryland under Friedgen). Also, I thought two years ago, that many considered Illinois to be in the top two recruiting classes in the big ten, and top 20 nationally. Now is when these names should start to shine.
If we go 2-0 into Berkely, and pull the upset, watch out.
Here I go (generated for debate):
Illinois 24 Rutgers 21
Illinois 38 San Jose St. 18
Illinois 21 California 20
Illinois 24 Michigan St. 14
Iowa 38 Illinois 18
Illinois 31 Indiana 27
Penn State 9 Illinois 6
Illinois 17 Wisconsin 14
Ohio St. 34 Illinois 10
Purdue 42 Illinois 17
Illinois 35 Northwestern 31
