Look for this game to bring us back down to reality a bit. Being 2-0 is great however it was against Rutgers and San Jose State in the now-friendly confines of Memorial Stadium. Look for Cal to be a completely different situation.

This is not to say that Illinois can't win this game. When you look at this Illini team, there is one word that keeps coming up and thats improvement. The Rutgers game was an improvement on last season, San Jose State was an improvement on the Rutgers game and if the Illini improve this week as they have been, Cal better bring it. If you over look this Illini team, they will come after you, they might fall but they might just bowl you over.

The game, however, is played on the field and not on paper so I hope I am wrong on this but Cal - 35, Illinois - 28. Go ahead, Zook, prove me wrong (please :) )

The game will be played at Memorial Stadium so I'm thinking the players will feel right at home.

Illinois - 17
Cal - 42

The Illini D still has not proven that it can play with a major player and I don't think that it will happen over night. I would love to be wrong in this spot and have them surprise Cal, but so far they have shown me nothing that would make me think along that line. I still love to see the emotion on the sidelines that was lacking the past several years. Illinois is headed in the right direction, but we need more time to get up to speed!

Cal 37 - Illini 20

They're a top tier team with a bunch of great running backs, and will be too tough for us to contain. Their star RB, Marshawn Lynch, broke his pinky finger last week vs. Washington, but is expected to play against us. Their QB, Joe Ayoob (nice name), completed 17 of 27 passes against the Huskies for 271 yards and 4 TD's. But UW is one of the worst teams in the entire nation, so who knows?...Maybe Zook has some more tricks up his sleeve. At this point, another great showing by the Illini won't surprise me too much.

A good preview of Illinois @ California

Michigan fans should be ashamed of themselves for their behavior last week. Their constant arrogance is bad enough, but now they have to act like petulant children when calls don't go their way? No sympathy here.

35-20

They were leading 17-7, things obviously turned around. I wish the game was televised so I could say something else.
