I know there are quite a few here that are from the QC area so maybe you could help me out. I want to get 8 tickets to the Iowa game on March 2nd, but I am having trouble getting them. Where is the best place to go? Does this go in the other forum? If so, sorry Dan.

Having been to a game in potentially the worst state in the nation this year, I can assure you that it isn't/won't sell out :D

Our paper just had a rather long article on how Carver Hawkeye isn't selling out this year and the 5 year trend for attendance is that attendance is way, way down. Blamed 8:00 pm start times, new coach, bad recruits, blah, blah. I blame Alford. ;)

I have been to 3 iowa games at Carver Hawkeye this year and everytime there seems to have been 2,000-3,000 seats available. Its unbelieveable that you can actually walk up 5 minute before game time and get decent seats.

As for my family and I, we have our tickets for the Illinois game. We even have our family that lives in Illinois and are Assembly Hall season ticket holders, coming in to see our illini. We try to get as many Illini fans as possible to Carver Hawkeye. Go Illini!

At least there are some other members on this site who have to deal with Hawkeye fans (I live in Iowa City)! I went to the WAKE @ IOWA game for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and, no joke, there were about 4,000 people there (not to mention about fifty students in the student section). Their attendance is pretty awful, but it can get pretty loud in there. I was at the '05 Illinois-Iowa game there (talk about Illini fans filling Carver! :D ), and when they were on a run, it got pretty rowdy in there. Don't worry though, the noise was soon drowned out by all of the Illini fans and the Orange Krush.

Everyone wear Orange so that we stand out like we did in '05 (there were AT LEAST 4,000 Orange shirts in Carver that year).

The original 4 tickets I got by buying the Big Ten weekend package, which was good for 4 Iowa vs. 4 big Ten games on weekends (which includes the Illinois game).

When those didn't sell out, all BT games went for sale as a single game tickets, around mid December. I got the remain tickets through the Hawkeye ticket office and got several more later on in the day through their internet ticket site.

I believe the original reason they only sold the Illinois game as a weekend package was to make sure Illini fans wouldn't come to the game. Last year, single game illinois tickets were only on sale several weeks before the game. (the college student ticket agent said one year there were more Illini fans than haweye fans, refering to '05 I assume). Little did he know that he was on the phone with Iowa's biggest Illini fan.

My family and I don't mind buying the weekend package. We enjoy Big Ten bb and generally do not root for the hawkeyes, although I did root for them last year against Indiana.

I would just call the box office. You may get lucky. I got row 2 seats, near the Illini bench. See you in march (game date and time has yet to be set.)
