As coach Ron Zook pushes older players into the background to give playing time to those who he hopes will carry the team next season and beyond, this trio of youngsters helped make Saturday's game interesting and entertaining. No one did that more so than Hudson, the wide receiver Zook anointed "our go-to guy" after he hauled in 10 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. Hudson also ran a reverse for 24 yards, appeared to make another catch that instant replay failed to award him and has quite obviously become quarterback Tim Brasic's favorite target.
Another is Eisenhower freshman Brit Miller, who got his second start at middle linebacker and was Illinois' unofficial leading tackler at halftime before being slowed by a third-quarter leg injury.
And the third is Bloomington sophomore Justin Harrison, a safety who played in Decatur's Junior Football League as a youngster and whose 10 tackles against the Badgers tied for second-best on the team.
