This is an old, old thread, but i must add to it.
1. If everyone on the cards hadn't been doin' weed, they could have beaten the chisox easily.
2. No Rolen, so i have an excuse for my Cardinals.
3. Sanders after the NLDS was higher than a kite!!!
4. The cubs will always lose
5. The Cardinals will always win
6. One Word: PUJOLS
7. Another: CARPENTER
8. Another dingy: Rolen will be back next year
9. Mulder crumbles under pressure (Just like Sugie in the Championship Game. LOL!!)
10. We'll sign another David Eckstein Guy
11. NO ONE CARED ABOUT THE WORLD SERIES
12. After that pujols moon shot in NLCS game 5 i thought the Cards were going all the way. But alas, Mulder can't throw and orange. (stupid Blonde Highlights)
13. The Cardinals Have made the playoffs in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005.
All the cubs got is found memories of Bartman. So the subs can sit and post, while i sit and watch next year's postseason (AKA The cards victory walk!!!)

Bleh, the only time I have ever rooted against the Cubs was in the '03 and '98 playoffs, and that's simply because I wanted us to win first. Now that we got ours, you guys can win, nobody deserves that long not winning. I really don't hate the Cubs or their fans....I really dislike their joke of a front office (and owner, although would that be front office?) though, they really rob Cubs fans blind.

I think thats a classless move, and just adds to what many feel is a tarnished White Sox image. That being said, Congrats and next year, watch out because the Cubs will be looking for some blood.

I can't help that they do drugs in the postseason. I miss Joe Torre. Larussa overworked them down the stretch, which lead to inguries to basically evryone but Carpenter and Pujols.

If you guys get back to the playoffs and we aren't there like in 2003, I will honestly probably root for you guys. I know some real good Cubs fans (like my father) and the same people that caused me to root against them in 2003 for bragging rights purposes will cause me to root for them next time.

MVP voters aren't allowed to consider the fascinating events of October before they cast their esteemed votes. But anyone who watched the Cardinals in the NLCS should know exactly why Albert Pujols deserved to be this year's National League MVP.

The Cardinals batted .209 as a team in that series. They got exactly one home run from hitters not named Albert Pujols. And their team slugging percentage, if you subtract Pujols from the mix, was a terrifying .262.

In short, this wasn't a real good offensive team by the end of this season. But Albert Pujols' gift was that he often made them look like one through his sheer, relentless greatness every time he showed up at home plate.

We're not so sure the masses actually paid much attention to that through much of the season, as the Cardinals rampaged through the NL Central. But that wasn't Scott Rolen hitting behind Pujols for most of this year.

In fact, for nearly one-fourth of the season, it was somebody like Yadier Molina. Or Mark Grudzielanek. Or John Gall. Or a banged-up Larry Walker.

So behind him, Pujols had less protection than he has ever had. And in front of him, the top of the Cardinals' order -- pesky and lovable as David Eckstein might be -- was just inefficient enough that Pujols got 44 fewer at-bats with men in scoring position this year than Andruw Jones.

Which is why this was one year when voters needed to look past the obvious numbers to elect the proper MVP. And whaddaya know -- they did.

Jones was, in fact, tremendous in many ways. And -- in a season in which his team's roster was populated by guys young enough to play in the College World Series -- the Braves wouldn't and couldn't have won without their man Andruw.

But as dazzling as Jones' 51 home runs may have looked, and as impressive as it may have seemed that no one in the National League was within 11 RBI of him, it's hard to argue he was really more valuable to his team than Pujols was to the Cardinals

Look, the cubs hae some of the best fans in the world i know it. I really do hopw they do well and win it all someday. You can't hate them becasue everyone is soooo nice at wrigley. Even when i had a cardinal Jersey on. You guys deserve to win the world series more than anyone, and i really don't hate them Deesgirl11, i used to go to Cardinals-Cubs game at wrigley all the time, and i was always treated with respect, and so far you are the only one on these forums willing to stand up for lee, and that's one of the most honorable things a sports fan can do; be there for their team when their down. (Which i have not done for illinois)
