So no further news on Nowicki (OT) and Robinson (WR)? Those two would fill a couple of critical needs.

Ryan Nowicki is visited Washington yesterday or today, will visit Illinois this weekend, then visit Arizona State early next week.

Nothing new on Nowicki, I don't believe. Assuming everything we've heard up to this point is correct, he met with our assistants at Penn State (plus we had an assistant visit his family in AZ, apparently) then is visiting Washington yesterday and today, flying back to Champaign for the weekend, then visiting Arizona State on Monday. Not sure if all of that was old news or not. Probably will make a decision sometime next week, I'd guess.

Might just want to visit his family for free. Why would anyone want to play for a coach as transient as Graham?

When we were visiting him at PSU, Arizona State was having an in-home visit with his parents. I'm just speculating, but I wonder if the parents are pushing ASU and wanting him to stay close to home. He's just visiting there to appease them, maybe? Parents favor one school, kid favors another. Hopefully the visit goes well this weekend. |

I think if he doesn't commit to WASH....and he comes to Champaign for this weekend I'm thinking this weekend he will commit and not go to ASU.....but then again u never know but i think if he comes here for an entire weekend and meets the coaches and players and the campus I'm thinking he will love it and commit....he has a chance to push for PT throughout the year and could start next year
so why not stay in the BIGTEN like he wants to play in, go to a school where he could have a way better chance to play and start over with a new coach....his best shot is ILLINOIS overall |

My concern with the players Illinois is talking to from PSU is that the media has had such a negative reaction to Illinois' involvement that the players could disassociate themselves from Illinois.

Spearman may go to houston after all... He's asking for the Couger fans to follow him. And he said QB John o'Korn has been his best recruiter so far.

That might be an overreaction. If it's true though, then his coach obviously has something against Illinois. Because I know for a fact Reggie wants to go to Illinois

Urban Meyer Rule #1 It's wrong to recruit Penn State players Rule #2 It is virtuous to recruit players who have given a verbal commitment - to Penn State or anywhere else. Meyer and Kiffin tied for "top flipper" - surprised? |

Someone asked Richard Obert (Arizona Republic HS sportswriter) about Nowicki and he said-

Dondi Kirby gone for good
Seems like Dondi Kirby who was last years 4 star recruit bust is going to have to look for a school who can offer some kind of special admittance to get beyond the NCAA clearing house regulations. Anyone know anything?

Dondi has a kid now so that complicates things a bit but he hasn't heard from the new staff yet.

Looks like Finley dropped us. Makes Nowicki a very important recruit at this point, IMO.

well thats not good....Nowicki is a solid prospect that we would really benefit of having....
Gibbs could very well drop us do to he is still out there visiting and now his teammate Finley isn't considering us makes me think Gibbs could walk as well we do tho have Schmidt, Chadwell, DiLariuo all as commits who will play OL so its a plus but they are all projects for the most part with gaining weight and getting stronger....none of them weight over 275lbs......which is light in the BIGTEN....so they will need some time but at least we have guys to fill the depth need but it would be nice to get some instant impact guys on our line Im interested now in how we end our recruiting push before the season starts....and who is gonna come for official visits also Buckus and Beckman said the best 5 will play which could mean Thornton and Pocic might be playing OT and with our death at OG we have Sands, Karras, Hill, Boles, Feldmeyer, Durkin to battle it out for out interior spots.... gonna be interesting to read reviews from Rantoul how they put the best 5 out there |

Why the hell do these OL keep dropping us? Damn it.
I'm hoping Gibbs sticks but it's not likely now. |
