Well I hope that it's KBD committing to us. Would be a game changer if we can get him on board early and then make a full court press for Alexander and Lyle.

The initial urgency (after KBD commits) is the other big.

Alexander is gonna have to $hit or get off the pot, 'cause Finke's gonna take that ride, IMO.

Been reading alot of folks expressing wishful thinking about Cliff Alexander... just curious, did I miss something, is there any reason to think he's considering Illinois?

Although we're nowhere close to leading, I think most believe we are getting his attention and may be an underdog with him to MSU or UK. Personally I only see it being possible if we get both KBD and Lyle, but that itself is pretty wishful thinking.

We are definitely behind both Kentucky and MSU for Cliff, but adding a guy like KBD definitely makes Illinois an attractive option with guys like Alexander and Lyle.

Pretty sure that, assuming that Finke is hypothetically committed, there will still be room for Cliff if he wants to hop onboard. JMO.

The trend is towards schools issuing "guaranteed" 4 year scholarships. It has already happened in FB and won't be long till it spills over into BB. It will place even more pressure on talent evaluation. Should be interesting times ahead.

Found this tape of Jaquan Lyle. Shows warts and all.

Only real worrisome thing is the body language shown after the miscues. Obviously the talent is there, question is can Groce break our Indiana embargo.

For anyone that is plugged in or has seen a lot of these kids, is Lyle a clear step above a Zabo or Mitchell?

Well hopefully no fax machine problems in the high schools or DIA today

He'd have another 10 assists if his teammates could finish so I would be frustrated to if I were him. :laugh:

Not sure if Lyle is a clear step ahead, but he's definitely the guy we are in the best shape to land as of today.

No, I just feel that if a true elite talent wants to play for you, especially from Chicago, you find a way to make it work. This is just my personal opinion with no "connections" at all.

Fair enough. My take is that if our 2nd big ride is about to be taken, the Big Dog will be given a "last chance" call. If he passes, the O&B ship has sailed. Is it possible he'll change his mind down the road? Sure. But highly unlikely, IMO.

While we've made progress with Alexander, I highly doubt he's ready to join the party. If Finke is ready, I don't see Groce passing or slow playing him.

The staff really like Finke as his game is perfect for our offense. The over signing will/would work itself out one way or another. If he wants to come the staff would welcome him with open arms.

Finke is a high major player he does not need to walk on anywhere.
