Iowa will more than likely have to keep Ferentz around for another year with the huge contract that they owe him. Living in Iowa it's great to see the struggle.

Overall, I like the DL and DB. Bailey is a top recruit, but I wonder how he will fit into Cubit's offense. We are going to have to recruit better on offense next year, at just about every position.

He had trouble gaining eligibility. He had recently moved to the area, IIRC.

Signing Day Breakdown 2013

There's good news and bad news buried in that list. The good news is, this class starts our path back to having a complete roster talented enough to compete in the Big Ten. The bad news is, it will be a while before these freshmen are solid contributors, and if only five of our sophomores, juniors, and seniors can crack that list, we're still a long way away from having that necessary roster.

But I'm patient. I'm an Illinois football fan. I've never been into the whole gift horse mouth-looking thing.

Corey Long reported on ESPN that Collins' mom has upstaged his signing ceremony and is refusing to let him sign his letter of intent to Arkansas. In fact, she cannot even be found.

"The papers are not there. I've been told by two different sources that Alex Collins' mom confiscated the papers and took off and ran with them. They are looking for her currently. From what I understand, Alex is not at the school right now, he is looking for his mom. She was quite torn up about him leaving."
