Props to the marketing department and all that are involved in making this happen. Such a great idea. That weekend is going to be a blast with the football game, vball game, the Street Jam, and the Pygmalion Festival going on. Looking to go to a concert or two and hoping to swing by to catch the basketball festivities. Really looking forward to catching the young guys in action.

I'm glad to see Aaron Jordan is coming in for the event. Would LOVE to see him in blue and orange in a couple of years.

We are planning on coming over for the event. Does anyone know of any good parking near the streets that the event will be? Thanks

Marcus Jackson wrote that UAB did something similar.

If ours is like this but on a larger scale, should be pretty solid

Google "Alabama Birmingham hoops haase phalt" for more

The University lots are probably your best bet. I don't believe any of them are enforced on the weekends.

Also - Pitt did this, and it looks like it was wild.

Would appreciate people taking pics/video and posting on here.

+1. It's Warrior Dash time in STL so I can't make it either. Wish it was any other weekend. Definitely hope some of you can post some great videos on here.

Love the reenactment of the game winner vs WV. Would be pretty cool if we did that for Tyler's shot vs Indiana

Our dunk contest should be crazy with Bertrand, Rice, Nunn, Colbert, and Ekey.

I'm sure Illini Productions HD will make a great video with the highlights of the event.

Looks like BTN is booked with Michigan at Penn State Volleyball action during the Illini Street Jam. Although they should have a rollover channel available

WDWS played an interview with John Groce on Saturday's program (the talk with Loren Tate and Groce was recorded on Friday).

On the beginning of practice-

John Groce:
"We're excited just to get started. We'll practice once on Friday, we'll go twice on Saturday. We'll do the Illini fest that evening at 7:30pm. Great day on campus. We've got a football game at 11:00am and then our nationally ranked volleyball team plays at 4:00pm. We'll follow up as a kinda third act of the day. Should be a great day on campus, hopefully the weather will cooperate.

"It's [an event] in which we're excited to share with the community and in particular our student body. It will be outside right there at the intersection of Green and Wright St."

The John Groce interview starts 1:16:10-

Love that HCJG misses nothing, making sure to point out that basketball follows our nationally ranked volleyball team. When his team is ranked, I would hope that the other coaches take the air space to notice back.
