Read this editorial today. In a nutshell:
"As Yuval Levin of the Ethics and Public Policy Center notes, the Times never paused to ask why it’s okay that “a design flaw in the law somehow empowers” regulators to punish private employers. But this is typical of so much press coverage of Obamacare; it’s a given that it is the government’s job to make sure the law is seen as successful, no matter what." http://www.nationalreview.com/author/56454/latest |

Well, we got our annual health insurance speech last night.
We are facing an 80-100% increase in premiums for our company next year. That number is still soft but if it is half of that it will cost the company about $2.1M per year or $57,000 per doctor. That is untenable. The costs will be passed on to the employees to the maximum legal amount. Yes, the law limits somewhat how much we can make them pay of it but in a rare moment of blindness we can pass along all of the $11 per week per employee tax to the employees. That means there will be a line item called: Affordable Care Act Tax $22.00 on each check. You all should expect to see something like that. We are going to have to go self-insured it appears or we might just get rid of health insurance altogether. Let the staff go uninsured and buy individual policies for ourselves. It's a mess. __________________ "To forbid us anything is to make us have a mind for it." Michel Eyquem de Montaigne |

One of the most fundamental changes in our history and 42% of people don't even know it is the law.
