Chicago Cubs righthander Jason Berken isn’t known as a strikeout pitcher, but strikeouts put him in the record book this afternoon.

In the second inning against the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field, Berken struck out four batters to tie a major league record for most strikeouts in an inning. The feat has been accomplished 62 times in the majors, according to baseball-almanac.com.

I don't know what the attendance requirement you are speaking about is, but I can tell you that triple-a baseball must not have a very stringent policy. I have been to a lot of Albuquerque Isotopes games the last couple years, Triple-A baseball is not a draw.

The 'Topes are among the top teams in the league, and barely draw 8,000 per game (a number I am very skeptical about). Many teams in the PCL have attendances under 5,000, a number I am sure Springfield, MO could keep up with.

Already average 5,000+. It's all moot anyways since the Cardinals re-upped with Memphis a couple weeks ago.

Astros going to Quad Cities. Makes sense in that former Cardinals scouting director is now Houston's GM.

Yuck...I can almost guarantee that the Bandits attendence will take a hit because of this.

No...i doubt Grace will get a job anytime soon with his DUI problems. He might actually be seeing some prison time.

Tent City vacation with Sheriff Joe Arpaio at the very least. 2nd DUI usually starts at 2 weeks and goes up depending on the circumstances.

thanks for the clarification. If anyone would know it would be you....not saying you've got DUI's...but you're from Arizona...yeah...that's the ticket.

Wow....Berthiaume leaving ESPN. I liked him (one of the few ESPN guys I do like). He was very good on Baseball Tonight.

good for you. Too bad season ticket prices weren't cut 10% like the bleacher seats. But a reduction is better than an increase.

Agreed. But in the event we get better seats for next year, obviously our price will go up. But after being on the wait list for so long and with the Cubs having a plan going forward, it should be worth it.
