in your defense...you probably didnt join at the best time...emotions are at a fever pitch right now...this is a great board and im sure you will like it here...Bonick is one of my favorite members here and i think his free DVD mailings gives him the right to scold you for charging anything regardless of whether you stand to gain a small profit or not because that isnt what this thread was about although im sure several people will gladly take you up on the offer

can we see a jpg of your artwork?
No need to post my artwork. I'm not offering up anything in this forum anymore.

Re: 2005 Illinois vs. Arizona DVD

CUBound--

I want to give you the benefit of the doubt and say thank you for the idea of getting copies of these games into the hands of Illini fans at a very cheap price. $2 for a DVD of those games is a great deal and I'd easily pay $6 to have those where I could watch them forever.

What you might not know is that hundreds of the Illini-Arizona game have gone out for free...with me having paid quite a bit of money to buy supplies and send to people throughout the country. Someone gave this to me as a gift, and I wanted to "pay it forward" and pass it along to lots of other fans on this board, including those whose only post was "can you send me a copy of the game."

While I'm really hoping you have good intentions in getting these games to people--I really want to believe that--you would have to understand how this would upset people like me and Bonick and many others who've sent out anywhere from 15-50+ copies each.

I didn't make a donation to this board, but feel very strongly that the money I've spent to send out this game is part of the deal. As a Christian on Ash Wednesday, I'm trying to be as calm as I can about this...and I really hope you can understand how your suggestion to "sell" games--realizing it's just the cost of materials--might upset many here who've done that for free. Obviously you're not out to make money or you'd sell these on eBay for $20 or whatever.

I appreciate your offer to hook up a bunch of Illini fans, and hope you can appreciate why people on this board, including me, would be upset.

Let's put away the wolves and get ready for the cats...

Go Illini!

Thank you very much for a rational response to my offer. I never meant to offend anyone and never expected to have a few irrational people jump all over me. Especially when they were intelligent to point out that I was new to the board. I have not been around this board, have never even thought that people on here were offering up free copies. I saw a post with people asking for a copy of the game and saw others saying that they'd dupe their copy if the person mailed them a blank DVD and a SASE. I thought I was doing the exact same thing except cutting out the time it would take to mail the blank and SASE to me. I guess there are others that jumped as soon as I threw up a dollar amount without looking at my post in a positive, rational manner. I am glad to see there are a few cool heads around here. I was beginning to believe this forum was the usual "Can't wait to flame anyone that speaks" type of forum. I, honestly, never meant to make a dime off of these. I spent my time creating two of the three and was still willing to send copies of it off for the cost of my own materials. Nobody here has ever provided me with anything for free and I don't expect anyone to ever do so, so I, unfortunately, don't share the "pay it forward" experience that others of you obviously have.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IF SOMEONE SENDS ME A COPY, I WILL BURN COPIES AND SEND TO ALL WHO ASK. IF I GET A COPY, JUST SEND ME A BLANK DVD AND A RETURN ENVOLOPE WITH POSTAGE PAID. I THINK THIS IS THE EASIEST SOLUTION. I WANT A COPY AND I THINK I HAVE THE SOFTWARE TO QUICKLY MAKES COPIES. WE COULD TRY THAT. BUT OF COURSE SINCE I DON'T HAVE A COPY RIGHT NOW THAT DOESN'T HELP ANYONE.

I just was not asking anyone to send the blank and a SASE. Just the money to cover these items so I can get it out ASAP. Yet somehow some peopel decided to interpret my e-mail differently.

The point is, you should have read some more posts in this thread before continuing on with your argument to understand the 'pay it forward' concept we had going. I asked you to do that in my very first reply to you. I agree with Someday that it is nice to offer the DVD's for only $2 - just don't do it here. Those of us who have sent out several copies can only be offended and made to look like jerks when someone else comes along and takes money (even for very little profit).

Please read the rest of this thread and see how much all of us appreciate the good will being spread here before responding.

Hey, all apologies for any ill-feeling I created regarding the selling and distribution of the Illinois Arizona DVD. I was totally unaware of the background here and really caught off by the response.

Wow, this seems like a fun site. And i don't want to be butting in here. But i have also been searching for this game or games on dvd since the end of that tremendous season. I don't care if there is a charge or no charge, if some one could just drop me an email i would do whatever just to have the game in my possession. Thanks guys and great site.

Re: 2005 Illinois vs. Arizona DVD

Bound,

Im happy your trying to help out the community here, but as your probably well aware by now that this game is being distributed here by members to other Illini fans here out of kindness and just doing a good thing towards other fellow Fighting Illini fans.

I've sent out countless dvd's here and have never asked for anything in return. Not that your offer is a bad thing (its actually a nice gestre), but just please consider what others have done here regarding the distribution of this dvd and you'll see how that you might have upset a few of the others.

Thanks for your time.

FightingIllinut, I can tutor you on how to make a copy if you still need it. From reading the rest of the thread it appears you may have figured it out.

Re: 2005 Illinois vs. Arizona DVD

To all, I have pm'd a few of you requesting a copy of this DVD. I must admit I pm'd someday son, and illini25 after reading the first few posts of this thread and offered to pay $20 for this game. Now that I've read through the entire thread I see you have a goodwill thing going.
Anyway I'd be willing to make copies for other members or pay for my own copy. I know I just joined so I may have to go beyond the call to earn your trust.

I'd be forever greatful if someone would step up and send me a copy. You can just pm me with your terms and get my address. This is one of the greatest games I have ever seen and I want a copy badly. Thanks to all

I would like to personally say "Thank you" to everybody that has sent these dvd's out. I said I would pay for them, but if somebody wants to send it to me for free that would be great. I too am a new member, but I've been visiting this sight for a long time. This is by far the sight to go to when you want breaking news about the ILLINI. You guys are great and if somebody still wants to send out a dvd that would be great, but if not I understand. Hopefully somebody will feel pitty on me for being stuck here in hawkeye land. Thanks and go ILLINI.

Re: 2005 Illinois vs. Arizona DVD

well i finally successfully burned a copy using my computer (thanks Rockguy)...i burnt a copy of the IL/AZ dvd that i was sent...apparently the problem was the cheap DVD-R's i bought at WalMart werent working...go figure, i mean Imation sounds like a top shelf brand ...apparently i needed DVD+R's dont ask me why...i went out today and spent about $100 on supplies (mailers, DVD label decals, jewel cases Memorex and Fuji DVD+R's and print cartridges)...i will be burning the IL/Ind 1989 game using my television DVD burner and the IL/AZ game using my computer DVD burner so i will be burning DVD's like crazy for the people who have already requested them and have them out promptly...i will PM you when your copy is in the mail...no new requests until i ask for them again please
