Minnesota's intensity was nothing special; they had no answer for Crawford. They shot 30%.

Purdue started out strong, but how will they react now that Siena has caught them? I still question the team's ability to put the disappointment of losing Hummel behind them. Being young men, I'm sure they have been privately questioning the point of their season after being talked up as Final Four contenders for the whole season. Rooting for them big time though.

Agreed; terrible analysis. The "beat each other up" mantra only holds water if key players are injured or slowed in some physical way. Really lazy.

Kramer playing his game. Why didn't painter land a legit pf to back up Hummel and Johnson? They'd be in a lot better shape after today's game if they did.

Just ridiculous. Purdue has had minimal playing time to overcome the loss of one of their leading scorers. Just a few examples... MSU w/o Kalin Lucus, Illinois w/o Chester Frazier, Illinois w/o Kendall Gill.

It's one thing to lose a player during the regular season when the competition isn't as tough and you have some time to compensate and develop, but the energy and competition of a tournament isn't conducive to working out the kinks.

It's a sign that the committee was staffed with a sufficient number of d-bags to do that to the league, putting aside OSU's hosing at being paired w/ the #1 overall seed, and having MSU and OSU stuffed into the same region.

wondered about that as well..took off yesterday to watch tourney..an what a surprise no bigten games at all.. that sucked but the tourney was so good i got over it... osu got ripped off,, but then so did kansas having to face them. they just did not do a good job in that backey hairpiece was crying about it.he probably does not want to face 2 bigten physical teams on his road to the final four.. duke got a gift to no ones surprise.. an because they won acc tourney= news flash so did osu

p.s. I don't think I've expressed my loathing for CBS Sports, yet. I loathe CBS Sports. I *so* miss the old days of the tourney, when it was carried by ESPN. You were guaranteed to see whole games, either live or on overnight replay, and without all the unnecessary cutaways. (this postscript inspired by a cutaway from a compelling Purdue game, broadcast in the Chicago area, to Mizzou vs Clemson with 18:30 remaining. just pointless)

Agreed on Hummel/Purdue and Big10 support. However begrudgingly, I'll root for the Big10 teams throughout the tourney. Gotta represent. This is partly why I'm so annoyed with (1) stuffing 2 of our top-3 teams under the #1 overall seed, Kansas, and (2) the inevitable criticism of the Big10 for not getting more teams in the Final Four (necessarily ignoring the seeding dis and Hummel's injury).

How painful to be a basketball fan from the state of Indiana, this year. Purdue's chances have been diminished by an unfortunate injury to one of their stars, Notre Dame goes out early, and IU supporters have to watch two of their former players (Armon Bassett/Ohio, Jordan Crawford/Xavier) lead their teams to first round victories.

I don't see Xavier as better than Ohio State, and we managed them OK in the BTT -- certainly better than Minnesota did.

maybe because Badgers are FAR from Final Four material

Yes, rooting for Purdue. (And for WISC to hold-off pesky Wofford.)

A bit of a tangent, but you have to wonder how the Texas players are feeling... going from a #1 ranking earlier in the season to out in the first round. Talk about disappointing.

They took a serious nose dive the last month of the season. Then to lose on a last second shot in OT. Very frustrating for them and the fans.
