The truth is somewhere in between. ESPN carried many of the first round games, back in the 80s, though not all 32 games. But ESPN did NOT have the tendency to jump around within games, like CBS's "cutaways/updates."

Sorry, I was talking about the 09 class. Martin has been gone since the end of his freshman season. I never really heard the whole story behind that. I know he wasn't happy with p.t. as a frosh but to play with a high school teammate has to mean something. Maybe he wanted to get out of Hummel's shawdows.

Painter did a great job landing Hart and Bartlow who are nice contributors this year. I'm still not sold on Bird even though he looks like a Kramer lookalike. I don't think he is nearly as athletic as Kramer. I think he will be a valuable role player by the time he is done maybe even in a starters role as a senior. Bade is along the lines of Cougill(Iowa) in that he'll be a nice role player. Bade has big shoulders and with some more strength could be a good one of the bench his junior/senior years.

That seemed like Sienna didn't know how to close out a game. They were down by three with the shot clock running. Really, just let Purdue burn clock and keep them from scoring, they really didn't need to force that 1 and 1.

Wisconsin trying to lose this one. Ruh-roh.

edit: Crowd is booing pretty loudly. Seems like they're behind Wofford.

Not a better team, just a different type. Xavier drove the lane like crazy and attacked the hoop relentlessly; we just aren't good at defending that. I don't think we'd matchup well against them at all.

We'd likely be one and done in the NCAAs; let's face it the NIT is exactly where we should be.

Wow, horrific shot by Leuer from DEEP outside, 5-ft beyond the arc. (no way of knowing where the shot clock was, owing to CBS' suckiness)

Wisconsin is producing one of their worst efforts of the season today. I can't recall the last time I saw a Badger team struggle so much to get defensive boards. Nankivil and Bohannon have been non-factors from what I've seen as well, and Hughes isn't able to create much against the sagging Wofford defense. I hope the Badgers come alive here in the last couple of minutes, or else their season will end.

Kid doesn't have a clue since he became a three point specialist. He's super athletic, and strong. Stay away from the arc especially since Luer is back. I know he came up big from 3 while Luer was hurt but it doesn't benefit Wisky when he's not down low.

Atypically bad shots by Wisconsin. A bit of panic perhaps?

Wisconsin is looking VERY desperate. They've been getting some stops on defense, but they're making poor choices on the offensive end. Not anything like the typical deliberate WISC offense.

WISC is in BIG trouble.

Nankivil is at least crashing the offensive glass, but Bucky seems unwilling to run offense. Wofford is collapsing around the ball on every isolation play, leaving the Badgers taking the ugliest shots I've seen from a Bo Ryan team in a long time. Once again, where Bohannon has been is a mystery to me.

Yes, it seems like it, and that's not good. Wofford misses the front-end of a 1-and-1, helping WISC stay within 1.

Stat just mentioned by announcers... Wofford 0-6, now 1-7, from the free throw line in the second half. Game now tied at 49 with 1:17 remaining, WISC ball.

A toss-up.

One observation during the dance.

Not much complaining over the stripes.

Wofford's game to win. Wofford with the ball, down 2 with 17 seconds remaining.

Would have to agree; I haven't seen any noticeably bad calls. The only missed call I saw was Leuer fouling a Wofford guy on the shot, but it seemed like the ref did a quick make-up on the out-of-bounds call.

4 points up w/ 4.2 remaining. Miracle territory now. WISC survives a scary one.

edit: official. WISC advances.

Wisconsin pulls it out 53-49, despite the lackluster effort. They'll have a winnable game against Cornell for what would presumably be a shot at Kentucky.

I can't understand why Leuer isn't talked about more often as an NBA prospect. He's big and athletic, he has post moves, he has a nice jumper, he can take his man off the dribble, and he's a sound defender and rebounder. You almost never see players that size with that skill set.

Well other than Clemson's bad loss, I'm perfect so far today.

This is his first year really showing all these skills. You can tell he did some work in the off season in the weight room. Ryan was smart to redshirt him. I don't know about nationally but within the Big 10 he has a huge reputation.

As for Xavier that was mentioned in another post would of been able to play with anyone if Derrick Brown doesn't leave school early. Most teams can't lose BJ Raymond, and CJ Anderson but add on a Derrick Brown and you see why they struggled early in the season. I want a Terrel Holloway type of pg in this program. It doesn't hurt bring former top 40 big man Kenny Frease off the bench.
