Which one would you choose
1) Apartment in south Lincoln Park (Belden and Clark, which is a great area) but the apartment itself isn't that nice or . . . 2) Apartment in east Lakeview (Addison and Pine Grove, which is a good area but not great) but the apartment itself is really nice Decisions, people, I'm asking for decisions! (forgot to mention that the prices are relatively the same) __________________ ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: Chicago apartment question
I'll call this like I like to call BTT games, nice and quick:
Go with 1), because a) you listed it first and b) I'll take a guess that since you're moving into the city you'll probably be spending a substantial amount of time outside the apartment so location is more important for now. Reminds me, one of my first apartments when I was in NYC was an Upper West Side beaut with less than 300 sq ft and a lovely sunlight-free view of a brick wall and a family of pigeons. I had to slide my twin bed around so I'd have enough room to open the front door / bathroom door / closet door. At that time I didn't care because I was out most of the time anyway and just needed a roof and a bed. Later on of course apartment quality became more of a priority and I would only live somewhere with at least 400 sq ft of space. Anywho, when are you moving to Chicago? Good luck! |

Re: Chicago apartment question
Addison and Pine Grove is also very near a gaggle of bars - if you're interested in that kind of thing. Actually, I would think both areas are close to equal. And if you aren't as wealthy as so many of the inhabitants' parents of Lincoln Park are, you might find lakeview's young working-class crowd more enjoyable (outside of game days when the crowd is speckled with drunk meat-heads).
