http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebaske...-game-personal

Senior guard Demetri McCamey said the game was "personal."

"Looking back, knowing that's the school you were going to, seeing them lose the championship, you get the feeling, 'If I was playing, we would have won,'" McCamey said.

One quick correction for Demetri: You're awfully good, but that team had Deron Williams, Dee Brown and Luther Head. You wouldn't have been playing. If you had, Illinois wouldn't have won. Just so we're clear.
I'm not gonna comment on whether Demetri would have been good enough to run with our three-headed monster, but this should DEFINITELY be bulletin board material for Meechi to go apesh*t tonight at the Hall.

Demetri would sure have been an upgrade over Rich McBride, though!

And I sure hope he makes it his personal mission to make UNC look like a 7th grade girls' team by dropping 20 points and matching that with 20 assists, including 3 no-look, behind-the-back, alley-oops to Mike Davis, Brandon Paul, and Joseph Bertrand (at the end of the game when we are blowing them out.)

There sure are a lot of people on here who despise North Carolina. I realize they beat us five years ago in the NC game, but that was a different team. I think they have a very respectable basketball program, but they are having a rough start this year. That said, we can win this game if we keep the intensity up the entire game. If not, we could be in for a long night. Let's go Illini.

They are like the NY Yankees. An evil empire of college basketball. Even if they are objectively respectable, under no circumstances should you like or have empathy for this team.

Down with UNC!!

I don't care if their entire team is playing wheelchair basketball. I hate em. I will never ever feel sorry for them. I hate them like Bonick hates Northwestern.

The Line is at Illinois -6.5 pts in Vegas, of course the bettors out there know NC limped in with a win over COC and its is pushing the line.

This game is going to come down to two keys, Free Throws and Foul Trouble we all know this.

My numbers show Illinois 78 Carolina 74. Illinois opens with an impressive first half run then lets the gas off in the second half to let the tar balls climb back into this game. Then it will be all Free Throws.

GO ILLINI

Just got back from the first shift of line cards for Orange Krush, about 450 were already there in line at 6. Should be loud in the Hall tonight!

There is a lot of negativity about the Orange Krush in this thread coming from those who have since graduated and moved on to bigger and better places. Things similar to "Well since year X (when year X is the year after they graduated, conveniently enough) the Hall just hasn't been the same." I for one am shocked that you don't think the fans are as full of energy and pumped up about the games, while you are watching the game from the comfort of your living room  Surely you can see the clear bias in your opinion. Sorry for bringing up a topic that seems to have somewhat passed in this thread, but I felt the need to speak my mind on the subject.

On to the game:

76
UNC 68

Similar to the WMU game, we will come out with lots of energy ready and we will be ready to play hard in the We will struggle on D in the paint and that will keep the Tarheels close, but in the end we will continue shooting well from the outside... especially in OUR HOUSE!

My angst against the recent AH environment has been well documented on this board and please PM if you'd like to know the details but i can assure you it goes beyond watching on my couch and thinking things don't look rowdy enough and has nothing to do with the Krush.

Back on topic, watching the other games, it would be great if Illinois can put the cherry on top of a 4 game B10 win day.

I root even harder against Duke. Duke is the Yankees. UNC is the Red Sox. Don't like either, but Duke is most hated.
