In response to Dan's public request, and with Scout and Rivals far enough along with posting prospects, I thought it would be a great time to get the 2013 thread going!

I thought you guys didn't officially start another year's recruiting third until the previous recruiting year was through...oh well. I think they're going to have a GREAT 2013 class led by the best OL in the state right now, possibly the best nationally in Ethan Pocic.

I think it would be best to wait until Signing Day for 2012 class (or at least a few days before)...

There is just way too much to focus on for the 2012 class imo, but whatever Dan wants to do. I guess it would make more sense if we actually get a few 2013 commitments soon or something though.

Yeah me too but I like how you're thinking. Ethan Pocic, Ty Issac, etc. your table is ready.

He decided to go the Donovonn Young route...we need a big time RB in 2013, so hopefully he makes a full recovery and flies a bit under the radar.

That sucks...plenty of time still for Brohm to change his mind. Can't remember the last time Louisville had a good football team, even in that terrible league they play in. They were a great testament to how good of coaches the Petrino's are.

Looks like the 2012 thread was started on 1/4 so it looks like now might be a good time to start getting this one going as well.

The most impressive player I seen this past year was 2013 ATH David Yancey from Lake Central in St John IN. I probably went to 15 games across Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana this past season. This kid can flat out play

what year is that Tulley-Tillman guy??

him and Pocic could very much so shore up our OL

Isaacs would be huge but so would Bailey at QB

Illinois has some great prospects coming out of the state next year....lets build relations with this state over again with Beckman and new staff(whoever that might be).....and get these guys into orange and blue

It would be fantastic to plug these guys in at Tackle for 3 or 4 years. Recruiting a QB would be a breeze with these two providing protection

Yes, that would be my dream group.
If I had to choose two that would help our program the most though it would be the two OL's.

The 2013 instate class is going to be a huge class for the new coaching staff. There are quite a few 4 and 5 star kids locally, and a few of them are at major positions of need.

It will be huge to be able to pull a few of them in, will be interesting to see how well our new staff does. I think they have the potential for a very good 2013 class, but we shall see. I am not too worried until 2012 closes up.

We are WAY behind already on Tulley-Tillman. To the point where the last handful of articles on him he does not even mention Illinois. So we have some serious ground to make up there.

and if we dont land those two, we will be playing against them as you can just about be assured they end up in our league.

The funny thing was that right around when Zook was fired, the rumor was that we were his favorite then and in the lead comfortably. Crazy how fluid recruiting can be, but there is plenty of time left in this one. We will make a big push imo.

Yeah, I remember hearing that. What is tough about this situation is that the new staff has to concentrate on this year and not so much next. With Zook and staff they had already established relationships with this years class and were just trying to finalize it. The new staff basically has to re-recruit everyone. Hopefully once they finalize this class they hit '13 hard.
