Doesn't hurt that Chikwe Obasih (HS teammate) is committed there too

Hell, the first time I played Mt. Carmel suiting up for Loyola, we took a look at their roster and they had kids from Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana on the roster.

Loyola, as a private school, was kind of able to recruit kids. I have friends who were recruited by Loyola, St Pats, Notre Dame, etc. It has been happening forever. Every school does it for the most part as they identify kids who fit what they want to do in summer camps etc starting at a young age.
Its no big deal really and honestly the topic has been worn out through the years. Just was poking fun at it.

I'm assuming Klachko has to sit out this year no matter where he transfers, correct?

Yes.

Within B1G he gets to play for 3 more after that. 1 year of eligibility is lost within B1G

Did I read correctly that transfers within the B1G now only lose one year of scholarship? So if Klachko transfers, he pays this year. Then next year, he would be eligible for a scholarship from then on? If that's correct, when did this change?

That is incorrect. Transferring within the B1G now is just as if you transfer elsewhere. Now you just sit out a year and can receive your schollie right away. Change was put in place before this year.

1 year of eligibility is lost no matter where he transfers because he red-shirted last year.

Does anyone else feel like we have like 345 reasons to be excited about Illinois recruiting today and going forward?

Is that number significant or did you just feel like using what looks like Vincent Valentine's current weight?

I'm just kidding, but if you haven't seen a recent picture of Valentine, well, he's.. more husky than husker.

Thanks! Very interesting move. Wonder why they're making it so much easier.

Maybe refugee isn't exactly the right word, but it's hard to think of another more appropriate one for the situation where you think you are going to have a nice place to live for 4 years then conditions become so inhospitable that you have to leave.

I was actually speculating/hoping that Zach Bradshaw (who Illinois offered) would transfer to Illinois, but he apparently committed to Virginia today, according to Rivals. I liked his father's statements quoted on ESPN.com--he said explicitly that none of the other schools who were his finalists contacted him trying to sway his commitment.

Then RK should have 2 years at UoI.

He used one last year and he lost one by transferring within the conf.

He gets a scholie for the 3 years he is at UoI.

Like RHIT says below. He redshirted. He then burns this year. So he has 3 years to be eligible. As of right now he still has 4 years of eligibility left due to red-shirting last year.
