Illinois Football Recruiting Thread

Random note: Cortez Leonard and Ricky Frasier are from the same high school. Dalyn Dawkins is also from Louisville Trinity, so I wonder if that means we are still recruiting Louisville or if this is only now being reported from when Brohm was on staff.

I would move Marcus Ball to safety he has said a few times that is what we are recruiting him to play.

On another note, I think the Draft was a nice boost in the arm for the program (and a pleasant surprise for fans/alumni). Despite our mediocre record over the past few years, there's quality coming through the program... and the pros know this. Makes the staff's recruiting a little easier, hopefully.

I defiantly agree with this. Hopefully the players see that they can get early playing time and exposure by playing here. We have been producing first round talent a lot as of late. Plus by running a system like Beckham's WR's and RB's will get a lot of notice if we put up numbers. Same with our O-Line.

It would be great to build our future offense around Bailey and Foster by adding WR's like Treadwell and Quick. Add in a couple O-Lineman like Pocic and that's a high caliber offense in the future.

Our D always seems to be solid as well. Hopefully that trend continues.

Dawkins was offered by the new staff. He visited in the early Spring.

RHIT = Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. They own the TM on it I believe. What you people mean may vary...

Yes, that is correct. Grew up in Champaign, went to Rose-Hulman, been following from the Chicago area for some time now. Been one heck of a ride to say the least. College wasn't too far from Hoosier-land, so I got an earful.

New commit. DE Jarrod Clements. Scout calls him a DT. Offers from Louisville, WV (rivals lists them, scout doesn't), Tennessee (scout doesn't list them, but rivals does), Toledo, and NC State.

Looks like a solid pick up at a position of need.

This helps us a lot with the 2014 kids and 2015 kids weve recently offered from Trotwood.

Also, again look at the idea I posted last nught. This staff continues to visit prospects and lock them up within days after their visit. Golesh was just at Clement's high school yesterday. This staff can flat out recruit.

WOW! What a nice pick up! We are just stocking up on D Line talent and I love it! and Like Ryan said, this is a big time pick up for furture classes!

Beckham is doing some work on the D-line. Hopefully we can get Ball at S and then pick up two or 3 receivers. I would love to add a couple more high caliber prospects just to increase our notoriety among recruits. Hopefully that can happen with Pocic and Treadwell.

seems like he played in a 3-4 scheme DE....so him moving to strong side DE shouldn't be a problem at all.....good athletic guy
