Scientists found that men who either drank two pints of beer or two glasses of wine before solving brain teasers not only got more questions right, they also were quicker in delivering correct answers, compared to men who answered the questions sober.

Why California Spent $205,000 To Move A $15 Shrubbery

There's a good chance that the sole remaining in-the-wild Arctostaphylos franciscana would have escaped notice altogether, but for the keen eye of a botanist driving by a soon-to-be-removed median strip near the Golden Gate Bridge.

A low, leafy shrub which occasionally sprouts unexciting little flowers, the Franciscan manzanita is that kind of squat ground-cover found all over California. Like other types of chaparral, it's not the sort of thing that draws close attention, but is part of the quilt of dark green sharing the light browns of the state's many hillsides.

The Franciscan manzanita didn't excite anyone until the last wild one was found. As it turned out, state and federal funds — some of it stimulus money — paid for the pricey shrub "translocation" project. Moving the plant and the weighty chunk of soil supporting its life cost $100,000, with $79,470 going to "fund the establishment, nurturing and monitoring of the Mother Plant" for a decade, as well as $25,605 to cover what federalese linguists call "reporting requirements."

ok so this plant was thought to be extinct "in the wild" but not in nurseries. so they moved this plant to a different location. seeing as how they moved this in the wild plant to a different location, for 15 bucks they could have got a plant from a nursery and moved it to the same spot this in the wild plant was moved to. 15 bucks vs. 200,000 bucks. only in california.

Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, and Kris won't be shying away from TV cameras any time soon! 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' has just been renewed for a three year stretch, E! confirms to HLN.

The deal may be one of the richest in the history of reality TV as well. TMZ reports that the family will rake in more than a whopping $40 million for three more seasons. That money is also only for existing shows, TMZ reports. When asked about the $40 million price tag, E! had no comment.

well he's not really a farmer. According to this article What he has are feral pigs that he allows hunters to come in and shoot. A feral pig is a lot different from the pigs raised in commercial farms.

When they get this size they are a threat to people.

They are considered a nuisance pest at minimum and a serious problem in parts of the country. No state wants to let them get out of control because once they get loose in the wild, they are extremely difficult to eliminate.

Think kudzu with hooves, it digs holes, spreads disease and can attack people

Man Admits To Calling 911 Repeatedly Because His ‘Damn F***ing Phone Won’t Work’

The dispatcher advises Skopec to contact his phone service provider and not 911.

“Whenever you do that, you’re tying up a phone line,” the dispatcher says.

“I know I’m doing that, but it ain’t my fault,” Skopec replies. “It’s f***ing AT&T’s fault.”

Soon afterward, Skopec calls 911 again and complains, “I can’t use my f***ing phone.”

“Listen here – I can’t get through to my phone unless I dial 911,” he continues. “I’m ready to smash my phone into the concrete wall. Is that OK? Is that OK? No, it’s not OK. What the hell’s wrong with my phone? OK, tell me. On the AT&T iPhone, what the f**k is wrong with it?”

The dispatcher calmly reminds Skopec he is calling 911 and asks if he has an emergency.

“Yes, I do,” he says. “My emergency is my f***ing phone don’t work.”

Kendall County Assistant State’s Attorney Lisa Accardi said Skopec was sentenced to 12 months probation and two days in jail. Additionally, he had to pay $775 in fines and restitution: $138 to the KenCom emergency call center, $244 to the Kendall County sheriff’s office and $15 to the Yorkville Police Department, Accardi said. He will also have to undergo a drug and alcohol screening.
