Obviously the season isn't over and you're still in the hunt but we'll see if better health lies ahead in the 2nd half for you.
Yeah we've had our fair share. Glad to see we are still playing some decent ball and are well in the hunt for the Central. Hopefully Lance Berkman and Jaime Garcia can get back by mid-August if they can and we stay away from other significant injuries as much as possible for a pennant push.

Jeff Passan, an MLB columnist for Yahoo Sports, on twitter: "Way to go, America. Now St. Louis can claim it's got better fans than the rest of the country combined." Found that statement funny

Alright, good ending to the first half today! Way to take advantage of a struggling closer and getting the W. Looking forward to watching Beltran in the Home Run Derby tomorrow night, hope he doesn't lay an egg. All Star game on Tuesday should also be a blast. Hope the 5 Cardinals there can provide well for the National League so we can get that 3rd straight win and give the National League home field advantage in the WS. Its worked the past 2 years!

On May 9, the Cards were 20-11. Since then, they are 26-29. I sure hope they can use the great win today as a starting point for better things in the second half. Also hope all five Birds do well in the All-Star game!

I didn't want to say anything Saturday night and jinks them. It was fun to watch a once in a lifetime inning unfold. The announcers kept talking about the 12 runs and I was hollering at them to tell me about the 7 2B. That of course took some research and time. I think the official scorer should have given Skip a 2B and not a 3B. I will have to check the replay and see if I need to change my mind.

Can we just play the Cubs every game for the rest of the year?

I was worried about the series when it started since the Cubs had been hot and won something like 15 out of 19. I was hoping Cards could manage to win 2 out of 3, never expected them to sweep them. I was working this weekend so I didnt get to watch other than poking my head in patients rooms who were watching the game from time to time to check the score. Saturday I remember checking and it was 0-0. then like 15 minutes later checking and it was 12-0 and thought what the heck happened? lol. had to see the replay when I got home.

Big series going now against LA, need to get some wins to keep pace as Cincinnati is playing Houston and Pittsburgh is playing Chicago where both teams should win 2 of 3 at least in those series'. But it is baseball, anything can happen! Just hope we can get 3 of 4 against the Dodgers.

In the words of the wise sage, Meat Loaf, "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad". Now let's make it 3-4.

Very nice to take 3 of 4 from a quality opponent. 6 of 7 on the home stand too, not to shabby!!! Let's take this momentum up to the north side!!!

Reds are playing out of their minds now, hopefully they come down to earth soon. For sure needed this home stand just to keep pace. That road trip where we went 1-5 and couldn't score worth a darn was brutal so it was nice to come out and redeem ourselves.

Yeah, the Reds are playing now like Milwaukee did last August. Cards just have to keep plugging away and do their part. And they meet the Reds 6 more times (3 away, 3 at home, same as with the Pirates). Next stop: Wrigley!

Reds have played good, but their last 2 series's were against below average, or bad teams. Brewers and Astros. granted Cardinals last 2 series's, one was against a below average team in the Cubs, but Cubs had entered that series on a hot streak. now Dodgers are certainly a very good team, so winning 3 out of 4 from them is very good.

and dont forget, Cards dont actually have to catch the Reds. they didnt catch the Brewers last year, but no one is complaining about Cards entering the playoffs last year as the wild card. and we know how that turned out.

I for one don't want the Cards just to be a wild card team this year -- too dicey. Don't forget that they would have to win a one game playoff against the OTHER wild card team. Much rather have them win the division outright and enter the playoffs on lot less chancy grounds.

Fun game today. Really wish the bullpen had been as good as they have been the past month or so the whole season, but I guess it's better late than never.

Agreed. Such a better club with a decent bullpen. In spite of their relief pitching improving, I wonder if they are still in the hunt for a trade before the deadline.

If there is a deal that makes sense Mo will pull the trigger.

I'm fine with standing pat at the deadline this year.

All the sane members of the fanbase realize you can't win it every year and there are no less than half a dozen prospects that I want to keep.

If we can land Huston Street and not have to give up anyone better than a Zack Cox, then great. Very unlikely, though.
