I figure since we all know that one day zombies will attempt to take over the world, we should all help each other out and get prepared. Please post your best zombie preparedness tips here. I'll start:

Just ordered 15,000 rounds. Figure that's a decent start.

Should get you thru Friday night, for sure, and they are always the worst.

I find that stuff to be an overpriced gimmick. If I recall correctly, expansion isn't as good and reliable as other JHP rounds. I've got enough components to load about 10,000 rounds for target shooting, and a healthy amount of CorBon and Winchester PDX stored up.

I know, but it's funny.

BTW, I didn't really order 15,000 rounds...

Haha true, I did buy a box just to shoot for laughs at the range once. And I wouldn't have faulted you for ordering 15,000 rounds of anything. People are already scare-buying due to the upcoming election, which is making stuff hard to find and driving up prices. I'm going to keep stocking up on reloading components while I can, because apparently last time, it took a while for the market to re-stabilize. Having a 2-year supply of ammo can't hurt I suppose.

The lack of a shooting range in central IL would mean 15,000 rounds would last me a few decades.

Just go find some random cornfield somewhere. Pretty sure that would suffice as long as it wasn't on a high volume road.

Gotta make sure that there are no local ordinances against the discharge of firearms. Also, would have to build a berm (which really could be done with fairly little cost). Shooting into open space, even when the next thing is a mile or two away, is just asking for trouble. Always have a backstop, lest you violate one of the cardinal safety rules: know your target, and what is beyond it.

If you've got a cornfield I can borrow. My backyard is about 30 feet by 9 feet.

I have a nice M-1 Garand with a few hundred rounds of ammo and a Taurus PT 100 (M9 Baretta clone) and I live in a castle of an apartment. It's about 10 to 15 feet above ground level (1st floor) with a gated parking level at the bottom. Only problem is it's smack dab in between Little Rock and North Little Rock, AR.

Gonna need more ammo.

Big time movie recommendation for zombie lovers, Cuban zombie movie with plenty of wry socialist-related humor, and possibly the best title ever:

Juan of the Dead.

I think it's still playing at the CU Art Theater.
