So my friend is the director of our local youth baseball program. Boys, girls, tee ball up through bronco etc. etc. During the "season" the man devotes 40-50 hours to scheduling, fielding complaints via phone and email, taking care of the fields, mowing, updating facilities, running to get supplies ....as a volunteer. He gets no money, no accolades, just all of the BS that comes with what you would expect out a position like his.

A couple of weeks ago, the gets an email from one of his high school age umpires. Typically they have 2 umpires for each game and they pay $20 per game which last on average 1.5 hours. The ump ended up having to umpire 4 games on his own as the other ump that was scheduled with him ended up being sick or something along those lines. The gist of this kids email was that he deserved to paid another $80 because he was the only ump at the four games.

Now....I know that it was probably a little bit more difficult to do on your own, but I think it just goes to show how this generation feels like they are entitled to more than what they are truly worth. My friend was pretty amused at the size of the kids cajones for asking, but he just shook his head in disbelief.

Interesting discussion. I saw it this way initially.

Obama has as little as 1/3 of white males and maybe 40% of white females. So he needs an overwhelming number of minority votes. I doubt many of the whites voting for or against him will change their mind over this except perhaps some union rank and file. Normally I would say that illegal immigration is a net negative for unions, the poor and African Americans. It's hard to understand why any of those groups would favor a larger group of labor for business to choose from. Seems to depress wages from a supply and demand standpoint.
