EA will essentially disappear for Illini fans.

So fox is going to have college games now too? Great. More channels to keep track of.

I saw this a couple days ago and wondered about it as part of the current trend of various other sports nets trying to gain ground against ESPN. Rome recently left for CBS Sports (and yeah, I know a lot of people don't like Rome, but he's entertaining and a good get for CBS).

I think this is a good thing. IMO ESPN has too much clout when it comes to college sports. I think they have crossed the line from reporting and televising NCAA sports to manipulating them.

How do we think this will effect ESPN's College Gameday crowds? She was a big part of that show... I'm sure people will continue to show up in droves for it, but they will have a tough time replacing her.
She does good interviews. Her sideline reporting is okay. It helps that she is beautiful too, but her work is actually fairly good. |

now Dan Patrick can be the focus with his "Occupy Gameday" movement with Erin Andrews as a co-conspirator. LOL. Love it

I read several articles that stated ESPN didn't want her back. Apparently, she wanted to do more studio stuff and less sideline work. ABC had given her a few opportunities with Good Morning America and she didn't do very well with the few spots she was given.

This thread is dumb if there are no pictures of EA.

Which pretty much sums up why she wanted to move to Fox. On ESPN she was the "uber-hot sideline reporter that did a pretty good job". That was just about all ESPN wanted her for. Fox, OTOH, is willing to give her a shot at more.

Jim Lampley, the original sideline reporter, recently said that it is a useless position. I agree with one exception: Pierre McGuire in hockey.

I agree with you 100%. I think they actively promoted some teams, and even BCS bowl matchups, over others.
