This is an interesting development:
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...caa-ties-agent http://www.cbssports.com/collegebask...-relationships Apparently the NCAA has the ability to address problems with AAU teams. It's a clever application of its power. __________________ Last living member of Olaf Blab fan club Last edited by Chris Yates; Jul 5, 2012 at 07:12 PM. |

Smart move. I think this will get some other programs reassessing their relationships.

Not surprising to see World Wide in there...even when I played them 3 years ago they had players and coaches fighting and getting thrown out of games...

Because the alternative is the sewer of street agents. Lesser of two evils. Kids in college get some protection against this swill at the expense of a Byzantine set of rules that are not always in their favor. In High School, it is open season with people buying loyalty, exposed to bad influences, and various forms of unsavory characters.

+1.
I can't agree more with you Dayton. Let's not act like AAU ball competes with the NCAA. If the NCAA is doing anything "turf war" they are making sure AAU basketball stays "amateur". The snakes are out there with AAU basketball, most clubs avoid it, but not all. |
