Boy, January 1st is right up there with opening day as best football days of the season. So many quality bowl games that day. Of course, it would be nice if we were in one of them.

Waking up on New Years Day a few years ago, watching the Cap One, Outback, Gator (I think) knowing that Illinois was coming up after in the Rose Bowl was just amazing.

Let's get back there!!!!!!!!!!

Still nowhere as good as it used to be when you had all the major bowl games on Jan 1. Now that it's strung out over an entire week, it's lost a lot of luster, IMO. Of course with the playoff in place, that was inevitable. Will be better than having the BCS, but part of me longs for the old days, at least from a TV viewing perspective.

I still think that the Jan. 1st B1G schedule is stupid. 2 games start at 11AM and another 2 at 12PM. 4 games on at the same time. So much for TV ratings when you split the conference viewership 4 ways...

Yeah TicketCity and Gator should get moved off New Year's Day.

I dunno, I kinda like being able to flip back and forth based on how entertaining the games are.

The Valley of the Sun Bowl, not to be confused with the Sun Bowl, which is played in El Paso, or the El Paso Valley Bowl, which is played on the surface of the Sun.

Not to mention the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas of Anaheim Part Deux With a Vengeance.

I love bowl names.

Insight Bowl to Valley of the Sun Bowl to.... Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl

Quote:
After a brief period of time spent as the "Valley of the Sun Bowl" for legal purposes after the expiration of its contract with Insight Enterprises, bowl organizers announced Monday that its new sponsor will be sports bar franchise Buffalo Wild Wings, and the bowl will be (appropriately enough) known as the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
