That helmet is painful just to look at.

Oh my goodness. That is horrible. I can't believe people are paid to design garbage like that.

I find it interesting that a football school that is as glorious and storied as Notre Dame supposedly is must resort to alt uni's to gain excitement for the program.

I'll have to ask my 16 year old son what he thinks. He (and his peers) is likely who they are trying to market to. I find it hideous or maybe I'm just old (that's not a maybe) and getting tired of all the uniform changes (is uniform change an oxymoron?) with all the competing brands. I like a good throwback jersey, but some of these new designs are more throwup jerseys to me.
Interesting too that the Adidas logo was almost bigger than the IRISH on the front jersey. The old phrase is "you play for the name on the front of the jersey, not the back". So which name on the front are they playing for? __________________ "I could care less" does not mean the same as "I couldn't care less" |

Yes. "Adidas" has nearly the same prominence as "Irish". And they left out "Fighting." Of course, the Irish haven't been fighting for awhile at ND, so it may just be truth in advertising.

I'm predicting that these uniforms will be scrapped and never worn in a game. I can't imagine the big Notre Dame boosters will be happy about these uniforms.

Overall, I'm usually a fan of Oregon, Maryland, etc. pushing the envelope a bit on unis. Players like them, younger demos like them....old geezers don't. But this ND uni is just butt ugly, especially the 33%/66% helmet design. The Maryland helmet from LY is a classic compared to this mess.

I actually like them a lot...
I mean I guess i fall in to that "younger" crowd at 24 but I dont like them just because they're flashy. I like the idea of breaking up the contour lines with the colors. I like the asymmetry of the whole uniform. I do think they will look awful on tv and dont get the random white for the logo. It would look so much better in gold. |

It's like George Lucas suddenly started designing uniforms.
Take something simple and classic and cram so much crap onto it that you have no idea what the hell to look at. |

I'm 25. I hate those God-awful POS uniforms. I didn't like Maryland's either, but those are preferable to that.

My parents went to Notre Dame and my brother so I've been exposed to it for a long time, gone to a lot of games, etc. I don't understand how you can mess with one of the most recognizable helmets in America, the all gold ND helmet...this is the 2nd year in a row they have messed with it.

25 also. Terrible. I liked the Maryland pride uniforms (not the turtle shell ones) so I generally like "cutting edge" unis, but these are HORRIBLE. TCU, ASU, WVU, and MSU (the grn/blk/gold combo last year) did it right.
