Headed off to Medinah tomorrow to watch our boys in blue battle the Euro monsters. Love the format. Match play is so different than the more common stroke play. Highly dramatic. Plus the team based competition is exciting and interesting as well.

Guess the prognosticators say that Euro is favored, but I don't think so. I see US holding serve, 15.5 to 12.5.

What do you think?

Like in most sporting events, I'll pick the "home" team. The presssure in these matches is unlike anything else in golf so you never know how guys will respond.

I'm heading out there Sunday with my son. I have to get a strategy on what holes to target.

U S A!!

I'll post some thoughts on where to watch after I've been there tomorrow.

Was just reading that, but never thought to post it. Good for you, thanks !

So, my guy Snedeker gets to start the day for USA ! It would be shocking if he comes through again, but no one is any hotter. Unless it is Rory. Should be a great match !! I may follow them a lot.

Don't like Mickelson/Bradley so much. Mostly because while I think Phil is a great guy, his record is meh and Bradley is a rook. But we'll see, right?

Dufner and Johnson, now that pair is STEADY ! Predict good things.

Finally, I like Poulter and I don't like Tiger. Way overrated, imo. Could be a rough start.

Your thoughts?

Just heard Monty make the observation that Jose is starting with all the guys who play mostly in the US, wants to get off to a good start. Makes sense. I thought Dustin would play in all the matches, but guess not. Furyk with Sneds is a surprise.

I don't like Mickelson or Bradley that much either, but their match has been the most fun to watch so far. Keegan Bradley came through Big Time! Phil even gave him a big smack on the ass - never see that in golf!

Was a rough start, making a nice comeback now. So far Bradley, Snedeker and Dufner are playing well.

Posting from the 17th green waiting for stricker and tiger. With the way it started 2-2 after the morning would be good. Lets see what this last group can do

That was a good finish to a lousy start. Disagree with sending Woods/Stricker back out. Dufner played really well and him and Johnson won handily, I would've sat Tiger/Stricker. They hit some really lousy shots and the team they were playing won with a lot of pars. They'll probably come back well, but still, I wouldn't sit a big winner like Dufner/Johnson. Heck, Snedeker/Furyk played a lot better than Strick/Woods (McIlroy/Graeme made tons of birdies).

Crowds look great for a sunday let alone a friday.

It is beyond packed. It is so hard to walk with the groups. Walked with first few groups first few holes this afternoon. Now just sitting in 17 grandstand watching video board hoping they make it this far.

Tiger and Strick down two through ten. With the other three matches won or leaning that way, go for broke!!

Not sure why Tiger chokes in the Ryder cup every time. 5-1 in matches he didn't play in today. I'll take a 5-3 lead after the first day.

Place is just mobbed. Hard to follow a group unless you are 6' 4". People are 4 -8 rows deep. recommend getting to a spot and parking it. Let the four groups go through, then jump ahead to a new spot. Great atmosphere. Simply great. But if all you want to do is watch golf, your TV is probably better.

Was out there today, what a great day. Just hear on ESPN that Tiger is benched for tomorrow. He did not play well at all today.

I'd watch golf more often (and probably tennis) if the fans could go crazy all the time. All other sports have to deal with the "distraction" of the fans.

I think he played OK in the PM matches. His Orange and Blue partner in the PM matches didn't contribute much, but the way Colsaerts (had to check the spelling twice) was playing, Tiger/Strick couldn't match that performance.
