I don't know what to think of them based on their results. They got beat pretty handily by UNC in Chapel Hill. They only lose to Iowa by 9 on the road. Their other loss is lipscomb. They haven't really beat anyone worth talking about except depaul.

They are not a great team, but they are not a pushover either. One more test for the coaches -- have the players ready for this one after winning at Maui. We have a veteran team, so hopefully we won't "take the cheese" as Bill Parcells used to say.

Had Iowa down over 20 before Iowa came back. Need to be ready to play. Trap game if the team still has their heads in Hawaii.

Classic trap game. A jet lagged, emotionally wrung out team trying to physically and mentally recover from three straight games in Hawaii against a lightly regarded (but capable) opponent.

We win, HCJG ties Combes for best start to a career at 7-0. Beat GT and GW JG has best start ever to an Illini coaching career.

Human nature could make Sunday a sloppier, closer than expected win. I would be happy to see a blowout, though.

I can see this game being a little sloppy from playing so many games in the last week and also from a Turkey Hangover, but Groce will have the guys ready!!

Illinois 73, Garner Webb 61. Potential trap game though, this team looked pretty good in their game against Iowa. Let's get to 7-0 and hit the rankings come next week.

I'd so love Illinois to lay down another beating and put the days of teeth clenching trap games behind us.

I agree with this prediction.
The team may play sloppy at first but I think the home crowd will be a big factor. What I would like to see is Egwu getting some inside looks. I think one of the biggest things is getting him and BigMac (McLovin) to continue developing an inside threat for when the shots aren't falling. Also, to help keep open looks available on the perimeter. |

All this talk of being ranked....please, please don't rank us in the top 25...at least just not yet. If you look back, the tendency for us in basketball is a jinx when we get ranked early in a season when we weren't on the radar before the season. Just sayin'

Don't let the anomaly that was the last five years lower your expectations of the program as a whole. |
