This all resolves itself without any controversy . . . in about February.

Minny looks like the real deal to me so far this year bro. I have no issue with them being placed ahead of Illinois.
#6 is fine with me, would be pretty amazing if we could get up in the top 4 by the end of the B1G season (still not bullish on that expectation). __________________ One word... Consistency. |

#6 in the Big Ten and #13 nationally? Crazy.
But yeah, I'd say #6 is about right. Maybe we should be ahead of Michigan State, but I won't firmly believe in this team until we start winning some road games in the Big Ten. Until then, I'm just enjoying the wins, the smiles and the hope. |

With our close calls against mediocre competition it should not be a surprise that everyone doesn't believe. I think that is about right but we could finish anywhere from 4-8 by the end of the season. When we hit a rough patch it will be interesting to see how this team responds.

Until they start winnings games after getting socked in the mouth in Bloomington and Columbus, then I'll remain skeptical. |

Not to be contrarian, but I really have no use for some dumb power ranking, especially one provided by ESPN. The epitome of futility.

Many are down on Sparty, but that looks like a dangerous team to me. Once Harris and Valentine get their feet under them, I think they're top 3 in the B1G. Also, Dawsen is coming off an ACL tear, and playing great. He's NBA talent that will probably get better once he gets comfortable again.

We'll know a lot more about this Illini team in about 24 hours.
After reading what ESPN says about us at #6, it seems like they are acknowledging that this #6 spot is just a placeholder for us, until we have gotten through the Gonzaga game. That text seems more important than the actual spot that they've given to us. It's one of those situations where, if we win by even 2 points, we probably deserve to be listed 4th in the conference, but if we lose, even by 2, I could see us dropping to 7th or 8th. |
