Tim Legler told a story on a podcast I listened to and said one time, the coach was so disgusted with the team's effort. After they returned home (as the game was a road game), at midnight or so. Coach ran them thru a BRUTAL practice for a couple of hours.

JG should do that tonight.

Our fanbase really needs some medication or something. That was a terrible game but come on now. We're not going to go undefeated. Every team has bad games.

I could understand the close Hawai'i game given the travel and time zone thing. I could understand GW because there was bound to be a letdown after the Maui trip. But these letdown games are getting to be a bad habit.

A win is a win. We didn't shoot well but still found a way to win. I know there's going to be a lot of negative things to say about our play inside but I think there is a silver lining to take away from this. This team can create a lot of turnovers on defense and if we are consistently getting more possessions than the other team then we are going to be tough to beat.

No one is saying we are the worst team in college basketball, but tonight was a horrendous showing. I'd be upset about this effort if we were 10-0 coming in or 5-5.

I'm not sure it's that, I just think we're not very good.

We fought like crazy in that game, like we always do, but we just did a lot of things wrong.

By the way, it's a good thing we were playing 8-on-5 tonight, or we would have lost.

I had to miss the game because of a work obligation. Can anybody give a brief explanation of why the low score for Illinois? I'm guessing NS went zone and Illinois passed the ball around the perimeter too much and then NS used a lot of the shot clock. That's based on other "let down" games this year. Is that the gist or was this something new?
