Watching to coverage for Gonzaga @ Butler is depressing. Two very good teams the Illini beat, both ranked in the top 15...and their loss to the Illini will be considered a bad one. I can't believe how quickly the Illini season has gone downhill.

Thankfully, there's still time for it to go back uphill. Whether or not that's likely isn't my call, but there's always a chance!

I agree, and if anyone doesn't reference UCLA in December. Honestly our resume is still in the 25-35 range IMO.
Texas hanging tough with KU right now. Of course Temple loses to an Andrew Nicholsonless St. Bonaventure Bonnie's team who is a current bottom feeder in the A10. Every time I see AJ Hammond it reminds me of Tommy Hamilton for some reason. Purdue taking it to West Va right now. UNC showed their potential while defending home court vs. a solid Terrapins team. Well, at least in the first half. This Tar Heel squad needs to find that killer instinct every good team has. Last edited by zoggle101; Jan 19, 2013 at 01:37 PM. |

Purdue wins, Texas drops to below .500 on the season at 8-9.
Louisville quickly down 6-0 against the Cuse at home, the crowd at KFC Center is silent. |

San Diego St with 9 points in a game against a Wyoming team missing arguably their top or second best player in the first half. Talk about a B1G score at the half 20-9 Cowboys.
Shockers win. Carl Hall lead the way for Wichita State posting a double double in his second game back from an injury that cost him 7 contests. Hall ended up with 17 pts and 13 rebounds. Oregon transfer Malcom Armstead pitched in with 13 pts, 5 assists, and 6 boards. The pg has been huge all year for coach Marshalls team. Dougie Fresh ended up with 25 pts and six rebounds in a losing effort for the Bluejays. Last edited by zoggle101; Jan 19, 2013 at 06:43 PM. |

Wow. Are MSU and OSU offensively starved or what?
KSU just keeps winning. Florida completely dismantles and embarrasses Mizzou. Welcome to the SEC. #15 SDSU scored 9 points in the first half?? __________________ "To forbid us anything is to make us have a mind for it." Michel Eyquem de Montaigne |

Syracuse looked very impressive in winning at #1 Louisville. Carter-Williams is a sensational PG. Imagine a kid like him running our O

MSU is simply not impressive again this year. Not very athletic outside of Harris and Appling (even Dawson looks less explosive post-surgery) and few playmakers. And OSU literally has one scorer on its entire roster and a bunch of poor shooters with really one guy at the most who can create his own shot. Has to be the worst OSU team in several years.

We would have ran him off for not playing much as a freshmen, and said he sucked because of it. JUst kidding kind of because he would of played as a freshmen here.

They just said both teams lost to the Illini on ESPN.
Iowa up pretty big on Wisky at the half. __________________ "To forbid us anything is to make us have a mind for it." Michel Eyquem de Montaigne |

I know nobody around here wants to hear it, but Butler is so well coached.

And without Butler's best player, Clarke. Butler's players individually don't seem very talented save for a couple, but they all seem to possess high BB IQs, are fundamentally sound, play great collective D and work so well together on O and D. On O, most of the shots they took were great looks, leading to them shooting 50 pct from the field despite only having 1 guy who seemed capable of creating his own shot consistently. By contrast, UI's O of late is dominated by isolation plays. Frustrating.

Their offense is what impressed me so much. Swing the ball, exploit the middle and attack seams when they arise. They made it look so simple with seriously limited talent. What I wouldn't give to see basketball like that played in AH.

Wouldn't be surprised to see OSU finish 6th in the B1G this year. Thomas scored half of its 56 pts today. As Dayton said, they're starved for offense. Outside of DT, they have no playmakers, no good outside shooters and no post game. They'll struggle to win more than 2 or 3 road games and even to defend their home court against ranked teams. A 10-8 season could be reality.
So glad we didn't get Thompson, too. Another poor-handling, poor-shooting wing. Flashy dunks and nothing else. |

Anyone see Wiscy lose to Iowa? I don't know if Iowa will be a tournament team any time soon in the B1G, but McCaffrey seems like a smart coach.
Iowa challenged Wiscy's size by taking it inside and had some nice driving seams among Wiscy's trees in the paint. I wish the Illini showed similar savvy. |

Honestly I could see "well coached" comments about Groce some day but, will take a little time to get us there. A least that's my hope anyway. |
