I haven't seen a worse defense at illini in a very long time.

Player of the game: Ed Hightower - absolutely the deciding factor tonight were the zebras. Shameful display - worst I've seen in a while.

6 out of our 7 losses we've been within five at the half. Complete collapses in the second half.

I'm absolutely sick and tired of Big 10 refs. That was absolutely criminal the way they called the game in the second half.

We still could have won if we didn't make such boneheaded turnovers at the beginning of the second half. Illinois basketball over the last year has been the most frustrating thing in the world. I don't understand.

C'mon man get real. This is the same story we have seen for the past 6+ years. We have zero toughness and size down low. We have too many finesse guys that do not do the dirty work in the paint. That results in offensive put backs for the other team and jump shots for us. Advantage: the opposition.

We do not have a center. We do not have a point guard.

BP3 gave this away with his lazy start to the 2nd half. He is an embarrassment to himself at times.

Great effort, the guys played tough, especially nice effort by Tracy and Myke tonight. At the end of the day, we really didn't have much defense in the second half. They shot 80% in the second half and shot a ton of free throws, so you can't have a worse defensive night than that, IMO.

I think Myke Henry deserves more minutes going forward given his play tonight. We really need help on the front court, since Egwu, Griffey and Sam just don't cut it against a quality team like MSU.

Tough loss, but winning on the road is tough in the BIG, especially this season.

Loved that stretch of game where the sophs and JoeBert were in without Paul. Nice look at the future. That group is much more coachable than this senior class. I think the seniors peaked first half of their Junior season.

i love watch us get bent over by the refs then seeing hightower having a laugh about it with the msu players. next game with hightower we need to come prepared...plenty of vaseline

I hate saying this but I'm about done with Brandon Paul. He turned the ball over twice, unforced, to start the half and played horrendous defense tonight in the 2nd half as did the rest of the guys.

How you let a team shoot 85% from the field is beyond me. We got up 10 and the guys quit again.

I realize we only lost by 5 in a really tough environment but this is another game that we let get away because we decided we had it in the bag.

Frustrating game.

Horrible officiating. Hightower should never call another game again. It's so inconsistent. Purdue can mug people all night long but we breathe on MSU and it's a foul? How about some consistency? Why does the B10 allow this stuff?

BP3....ugh. So many mental errors. Pretty much handed the lead to MSU to start the second half. Getting beat for alley-oops. Just awful.

At least we competed. Maybe we can build on it and win a few more games.

1. Sorry to say but cant wait for these seniors to graduate

2. The fact a sophmore is the only leader on a team that starts 2 seniors, and a 5th year senior is pretty sad.

3. As a bulls fan, Id love to see Gary Harris as the 2 guard of the future along side derrick rose, kid is a stud.

When Brandon Paul is supposed to be your best player and leader, this is what you get. End of story.

He single handedly gave this game away. Unbelievable.

That said, the effort was strong today. You can't be upset with how we competed. At some point, though, you have to win one of these games.
