It's a start, but that defense looks soft

But that defense is scary. I like the defensive line and with Martez Wilson out (neck sprain), I thought linebackers Ian Thomas and Russell Ellington did a pretty good job. But it's that secondary that I find frightening.
Once again, Donsay Hardeman missed tackles. So did the cornerbacks, Tavon Wilson and Travon Bellamy. Zook said Patrick Nixon-Youman is ready to return and said he's going to give him a look back there.
I just think the secondary plays soft to begin with, then whiffs on way too many tackles. And this was against an Illinois State team with a redshirt freshman making his first start at quarterback. What happens when they go up against better competition and better quarterbacks and receivers?
