Bragging rights in the Illini's first timed mile run came down to a senior (BUBBA CHISHOLM) and a freshman (D.J. RICHARDSON). The hard-charging rookie finished first (in 5:08) - by a hair over the veteran (5:09).
"I was leading probably 3/4 of the way. He (Richardson) just sat on me the whole time and kicked it at the very end and got me," Chisholm said Wednesday. "He has a second wind that he finds very quickly. And he can just go. He can run for days in open gym and workouts. He's always moving."
