Illinois in a dark, dark place

As a friend of mine once said, "When it comes to football, Indiana doesn't actually try."

What, then, does Saturday night's game say about Illinois' role in the current football universe?

It says that wherever Indiana is, Illinois aspires to be. And that says something almost none of us could have imagined just six weeks ago.
