Even though myriad nagging injuries have left Benn mired in a disappointing season, he's expected to become the third consecutive Illini underclassman to forgo his senior season.
Benn should follow running back Rashard Mendenhall (23rd overall, Pittsburgh Steelers) and his old high school teammate, cornerback Vontae Davis (25th overall, Miami Dolphins) to the NFL. Like them, Benn is projected as a late first-rounder by draft analysts, who say NFL teams are undeterred by his lack of production.
