Illinois' 2010 defense

The defensive line is a Tepper-ish 3-4, with the nose guard not having typical nose guard duties. In this defense, the Bandit is a little less DE and a little more OLB, with zone blitz schemes and stunts to utilize an athletic, smallish DE (like, say, maybe the best athlete on the team). With a weakened line, run support has to come from stronger linebackers (man, wouldn't my man Antonio Steele look great in a defense like this), so that's why I'm choosing Bussey over Ellington on the weak side. You also need a nickel back that has a little linebacker in him, so that's why I'm going with Ashante Williams as the 5th DB (my pick for "guy most Illini fans aren't too familiar with but might be a Vic Koenning favorite" in 2010).
