Rat-a-tat-tat

"We're doing the things that fundamentally should create turnovers. It remains to be seen if we'll do it in games."

Defensive end Clay Nurse, who is sitting out spring drills following offseason surgery, said Koenning has emphasized discipline and a tactic with a catchy nickname.

"Turnovers is one of our goals," Nurse said. "It's called 'rat-a-tat-tat.' We're going to run to the ball, we're going to tackle with numbers and we're going to take the ball away. It has to be a matter of pride.

"Generating turnovers is something we work on every day. For too long we've been at the bottom of the country. We have to change that right now."
