Illinois routs Northwestern 88-63

After notching the fifth assist in the first half of his career high seven, senior forward Mike Davis jogged back to the bench with a wide smile on his face. Senior center Mike Tisdale was there to greet him, giggling like a school child who just a saw a chair get pulled out from underneath a classmate.

That is pretty much what Illinois did to Northwestern Thursday night. The Illini's motion offense sliced and diced the Wildcats, who were left wondering what happened in a 88-63 setback at Assembly Hall.

Once again, the Illini's red-hot shooting propelled it to a victory. They shot an absurd 18-for-22 in the first-half on their way to a 31-for-44 performance for the night good for a school-record
