Another curious moment in McCamey's career
February 23, 2011 9:40 AM
McCamey had asked that he not start and that freshman Crandall Head, who had played seven minutes in Big Ten games, get the opportunity. Against the No. 2 team in the country. On the road. With an NCAA Tournament berth hanging in the balance.
"It's something I told Coach Weber since I haven't been playing good and Crandall has been battling in practice, I told him just to give him a chance to go out since they've been playing better than me," McCamey said. "I felt it was being a good teammate to give them the opportunity to come out and play as well.
"It was for the betterment of the team, and I think everyone played well who started the game. I think I'll be back in there next game because Iowa is probably the biggest game of the year coming up. It was just a decision I made."
