Illinois hires Mike Gillhamer to coach defensive backs

Illinois has hired longtime NFL assistant Mike Gillhamer to coach defensive backs, a source told HQ.

Gillhamer visited the Illinois campus last week. He fills the spot vacated by Dan Disch, who is now the defensive coordinator at Southern Miss.
