Seniors come through for Illinois
February 27, 2011 12:39 PM
Well, Demetri McCamey promised us that Saturday night's game with Iowa would be the biggest of the Illinois seniors' careers...and they lived up to billing in the team's 81-68 win at Assembly Hall.
Bruce Weber returned to his traditional starting lineup --- seniors McCamey, Mike Davis, Mike Tisdale and Bill Cole with sophomore D.J. Richardson --- and the four vets teamed up for 65 points, 25 rebounds, 11 assists, 2 blocks and 6 steals.
If those numbers look familiar , that's because the same quartet combined for 55 points, 19 rebounds, 13 assists, 2 blocks and 3 steals when Illinois won 87-77 in the Big Ten opener at Iowa.
