Illini take positive steps

"I was very disappointed that Demetri got two cheap fouls. There's a foul on every possession," Weber said. "It's real disappointing that he has to sit. When he went out, that was a big difference in the game. And he has to sit. They go on a 12-0 run."
Weber defended the decision to bench the point guard, saying he hoped the subs could maintain the lead while McCamey sat. But the Big Ten's loudest building hit rock-concert levels when E'Twaun Moore canned a three-pointer to tie the halftime score at 37.
"I knew I was coming out. But on the bench I asked him to get back in when they started making runs," McCamey said of his second foul. "But Coach Weber always plays it safe and makes sure we have a comfortable lead."
